General Transceiver Instructions

Front panel buttons & Controls

RIT OffReceive Incremental Tuning OffReturns the Receive and Transmit frequencies to the Main Tune frequency. The Incremental frequency remains the same. Clear resets the Incremental to zero
IRTIncremental Receive TransmitThis adds or subtracts the selected Incremental frequency displayed from the Received Frequency on the main tuning.
ITTIncremental Transmit TransmitThis adds or subtracts the selected Incremental frequency displayed from the Transmit Frequency on the main tuning.
IRTTIncremental Receive & Transmit TransmitThis adds or subtracts the selected Incremental frequency displayed from BOTH Receive and Transmit Frequency on the main tuning.
PreAttPre-amplifier / Attenuator / Through SelectionBy pressing selects either the Pre-amplifier or Attenuator or Through functionality
ModeTransceiver operating modeBy pressing selects either USB, LSB, CW-Wide (SSB filter) or CW-Narrow (Narrow CW filter)
< Band & Band >Band selection down or upMove up or down bands. Note: A function exists in the Function menu to select theway this ‘hops’ bands in either CW or SSB or both CW and SSB segments. See Functions elsewhere
< Mem & Mem >Memory selection down or upMove up or down in memory. Currently there are 100 + 100 different memories. (Many more are possible)
VFO > MemProgram MemoryPrograms the VFO frequency on the main tuning to the to Memory selected / displayed.Set button to confirm
Mem > VFOMemory RecallRecalls the Memory selected / displayed to the main tuning frequencySet button to confirm
Mem T/PSelect Temporary or Permanent Memory banksThere are two types of memory banks, Temporary and Permanent each with 100 memories. Temporary memories are useful for scanning bands for DX and saving them to come back to later, say when there is less QRM or QSB. temporary memories are lost when the set is powered down. Permanent memories are favourites and saved over power down.Set / Clear

Keyer / LinearCW Keyer and Linear DelayThe Keyer Function selects the CW keyer speed from 0 upwards. The Linear Function selects the Linear Amplifier relay delay: ) (off), 100 to 1000mS stepsSet / Clear
SPOTNet on CWBy pressing this button OnAir (Actual power from the transmitter) is disabled, allowing the tuned frequency to be ‘netted’ to the received CW station’s actual frequency without interfering with the any station.
PowerOutput PowerOutput Power adjustment. There is also a maximum power allowed ‘Per Band’ function. See notes elsewhere
FuncFunctionThis Function button cycles through a menue of ‘other’ functions. There is also a another normally hidden menu of ‘Cal Features’ used when setting up the HamPiRadio that once used should not need to be accessed again except for recalibration or maintenance.See text
Tune / LockRe-enable tuning or Lock DialWhenever the Func button is pressed the main tuning dial becomes the Function dial. To return at any time to tuning, or to Lock the tuning dial from accidental movement in tuning mode this button is pressed.
